How it all started
KCM Engineers cc was establish in 1993 by Gert Kotze as a small construction and maintenance company in the mining industry.
As a Certified Competent Mechanical Engineer, Gert was afforded the opportunity in 2005 to be appointed as the Responsible Engineer for maintenance on a local mine, under the Mine Health and Safety Act.
In 2015, Gert left the management position and with the experience gained, embark on a journey to really make a difference in safety and effectiveness, in the lives of the guy on the ground that need to do physical tasks every day,
Due to the large variety of equipment and to keep focus, Gert decided to concentrate on conveyor belts. This century old workhorse did not change a bit, and is still as dangerous as ever, maybe even more so today because of longer, faster, wider and stronger demands.
Our Focus Areas
- In Health and Safety: We belief in the hierarchy of control, that is to eliminate the hazard or find an engineering solution, before jumping for pen and paper to write another procedure or buy more PPE.
- In Environment and Climate: We believe that to protect our environment it is more effective to not generate any harmful substances, than to try and control it. Therefor effective and efficient conveyor belts are of paramount importance.
- In Maintenance: We belief that with correct engineering solutions, we can make maintenance tasks efficient, safe and as simple as possible.
Our Mission
Increase efficiency, ease of maintenance and eliminate hazards around bulk handling conveyors, with innovative, sustainable engineering solutions and products.
